"As You Like It," "Cabaret," and "Hair" are amongst the many plays throughout history to withstand the tests of time and culture. The 1960s were a time of revolutionary thinking, and therefore revolutionary art. Augusto Boal was one of many radical theatre artists to reveal his ideas to the world. However, the the theatre of the 1960s, for the most part, has been overwhelmingly lost, only making its presence known to theatre academics. Making these ideas survive in the long-term may have to depend on the integration of both alternative and mainstream forms of theatre.
